Barefeet International

How We Function

As Bare Feet International is a new organization, we so far have a limited number of sources for funding. Our main income generating sources include the following:

Appeals and Donations:

  • Bare Feet International relies on donations for much of its day to day work. For big projects, such as the construction of new buildings we may create a specific appeal. We also have special Christmas appeals, and disaster appeals.

Small Businesses:

  • One of Bare Feet’s main priorities is to make a change in the way small development organisations work. We try to encourage non-government and community based organisations to generate funds for their projects through starting small businesses. In order to practice what we preach, in each country where we work, we endeavour to start out own income generating projects to support the work of the organisation in that country.

Sponsorship:

  • Child and school sponsorship is our main source of funding used to support the individual children involved with our organisation. We guarantee that the majority of all sponsorship funds go directly to supporting the sponsored child and their community, so that you know exactly where your money is going, and your donation is not lost in administration and overhead costs.

Grants:

  • For specific large projects, Bare Feet International applies for grants from donor organisationas or companies. These grants are used in order to develop new projects, assist with construction, and provide the organisation with the equipment it needs to function effectively.
